What is Ayurveda?
Ayurveda is an ancient Indian system for health care. This science is said to be “more ancient than Christ and Buddha”. The Sanskrit word “ayur” means life and “veda” – knowledge. This explains the meaning of ayurveda – a science not only for health, but a science for the life itself. This is the oldest healing system in the world which aims through our lifestyle and diet to lead to catharsis and purification of the whole organism. Ayurveda considers man as a complex system of body, soul and life energy “prana”. The care for the physical body is the initial step to spiritual perfection. One of the main principles of Ayurveda is the individual approach to patient, consideration of his constitutional and physiological characteristics. It is accepted the patients to be divided into three types:

The method of examination of pulse, tongue, ear shells, eyes and skin, is used to diagnose a disease.. The following methods are applied for treatment: philosophic approach, aromatherapy, music-therapy, colour therapy, taste-therapy, mineral-therapy, acupuncture, pressure point massage, balneo-therapy, therapy and breathing exercises, diet-therapy, cleansing of the gastrointestinal tract, blood, kidneys, respiratory system and skin. |
